A non-profit organization I created to support high school esports programs across Southern Nevada.
What is Silver State Esports?
Silver State Esports is a high school esports organization based in the Las Vegas area. Its mission is to help local students get into competitive gaming by making esports accessible and organized for high schools.
Open to all local high schools and individual students, Silver State Esports provides accessible competitive gaming opportunities with no league membership fees—players only pay low event fees for the tournaments they choose to attend. Events are primarily planned and run by students under supervision, fostering leadership, teamwork, and real-world experience.
Silver State Esports operates as a non-profit, independently of CCSD, and communicates through Discord and email. All events are documented through live streams, videos, and social media to help promote growth within the esports community.
Pitch
Purpose & Opportunity: Create a solution to the lack of traditional sports and organized esports opportunities at many local high schools, offering students a structured way to enter the esports community.
Accessibility: Ensure there’s no fee to join the league itself, and event participation costs are kept low, making it affordable for most students.
Community & Growth: The organization must emphasize inclusivity and fun, with the goal of “normalizing esports” among youth and building a stronger future for competitive gaming in Las Vegas and beyond.
Execution
Student‑Driven Events: Many events are planned and promoted by students under supervision, helping develop leadership and organizational skills while building the competitive scene.
Club Partnerships: Partner with high school esports and gaming clubs across the region, providing resources, networking, and prioritized access to events.
Event Programming: The organization runs tournaments and events, and also connects schools to larger gaming conventions and expos, such as offering sponsored spots for top players at events like LVL UP EXPO.
